BOOTLEGS
Bootlegs are of course a problem since the quality of the recording not always can be estimated. I've made my mistakes myself, so below of I have recommended good sounding, soundboard boots - recordings used for radio airing.

If you are looking for live shows for your own personal collection You can now get your own copy on CD!

You'll find a lot more on audio on the Bryan Adams live recording site

ROBERT'S RECOMMENDATIONS - SOUNDBOARD BOOTS

  • Albany '83 - "Live in Albany, NY"

Very good show from Bryan's first US headline date. Contains several tracks he doesn't do live anymore. If you're looking for heavier tracks with great energy you'll find it in songs like "You Want You Got It" and "I'm Ready". A must for collectors.

    Tracks

    Remember
    One Good Reason
    Lonely Nights
    Tonight
    This Time
    Cut's Like A Knife
    Take Me Back
    Fits Ya Good
You Want It You Got It
    I'm Ready

Win Some Lose some (included on the 11 track version)

  • Hollywood Palladium '85 - available as "Remember" and "Straight from the heart"*

Another good show, also with some nowadays definately skipped live songs. Compared to Albany "Reckless" tracks are now "added". Great version of "Summer of '69".

    Tracks

    Remember
    The Only One
    Kids Wanna Rock
    Summer Of '69
    Cuts Like A Knife
    Lonely Nights
    Tonight
    This Time
The Best Was Yet To Come
    Heaven
    Run To You
    Take Me Back
    Straight From The Heart
    Somebody
She's Only Happy When She's Dancing
    Fits Ya Good
I'm Ready (not listed on the "Remember" cover)

    * Note: There are two different bootlegs called "Straight from the heart", the other one contains thirteen tracks from the Marquee show.

  • "The Marquee" London '87

Brilliant show, from about the same time as the official live album "Live, live , live", only better. Bryan sings very well on most of the tracks. The versions of "Diana", "Hearts on fire", and "Native son" are the best live cuts I've heard of them. Interesting electric version of "Into the fire" included. Greatly recommended.
There are alternatively titled boots containing this recording, however with different numbers of included tracks.

    Tracks

    Only The Strong Survive
    The Only One
    Kids Wanna Rock
    It's Only Love
    Cuts Like A Knife
    Hearts On Fire
    Diana
    Native Son
    This Time
    Victim Of Love
    Straight From The Heart
    Heaven
    Heat Of The Night
    Run To You
    Somebody
    Into The Fire
    Summer Of '69

  • "Straight From The Knife"

Contains all of the above listed 10 Albany tracks plus:

    Win Some, Lose Some (Albany)

    From the Hollywood Palladium:

    The Only One
    Kids Wanna Rock
    Summer Of '69
The Best Was Yet To Come
    Straight From The Heart

  • "U.S.A. 1987"

Another one with good sound quality. The tracks however are almost identical to the Marquee show, and most of them are lesser good versions compared to Marquee. The vocals are not quite the same either. Still a good show though. The audience participation in "Heaven" is some of the loudest I've heard.

    The Only One
    Kids Wanna Rock
    Victim Of Love
    Straight From The Heart
    Heaven
    Summer Of '69

    Run To You
    Somebody

  • "Keep on running" - Glasgow '92.

Another soundboard boot with some newer materialīthan the previously mentioned. A little strong bass perhaps, but otherwise usual soundboard quality.

    House Arrest
    Kids Wanna Rock
Hey Honey I'm Packing You In
Can't Stop This Thing We Started
    Cuts Like A Knife
    Touch the Hand
(Everything I do) I do It For You
    Run To you
    When The Night Comes
    Somebody
She's Only Happy When She's Dancin'

  • A NIGHT TO REMEMBER 2CD - Karlsruhe June 23rd 1996

Radio show from the european '96 summer tour. A pretty good show, with decent sound quality. Bryan makes a cool attempt imatating Tina Turner's original vocals in "It's Only Love". Including three covers of oldies. For some strange reason has "Karlsruhe Blues" been dropped from the original radio recording, instead some unexpected bonus tracks are included - for instance "Everything I Do" in spanish as well as the original single versions of "Rock Steady" and "All For Love" (!).

  • SUMMER OF '96 2CD - Wembley Arena July 27th 1996

A radioshow from the last date of the european '96 tour. Great sound quality. Romours indicated that it originally was intended to be officially released as a live album. Instead some of the recorded songs have ended up on CD-singles. * = Also released on CD-singles, see the the Discography for details.

THE SECRET SHOW - NOT A SOUNDBOARD BOOT

This is an audience recording, and the quality is there after. It's listenable, but the audience unfortunately sings along a little too much, which makes Bryan's vocals almost drown. But what great material to have! The recording is made in Barcelona in 1991 and features only covers of oldies except for "Summer of '69". Bryan is really the man to do especially heavier oldies like "Wild thing" and "Twist and shout". He also gives new dimensions to songs like "Come together" and "Rebel Rebel". I have thought a long time he ought to do a cover album, now I think it should also be a live album. Will we ever see it?
Also included are "Diana" and "When the night comes" (electric) from the yearly festival in Roskilde, Denmark on 1/7/90. The quality on those recordings are however worse than Barcelona - there's tons of better recordings of those two songs.

    Tracks (writer)

    La Bamba (trad.)
    Satisfaction (Jagger/Richards)
    Gloria (Van Morrison)
    Wild Thing (The Troggs)
    I Feel Good (James Brown)
    It's Only Rock'n'roll (Jagger/Richards)
    Born To Be Wild (Steppenwolf)
You Can't Judge A Book By Looking At It's cover (Bo Diddley)
    Come together (Lennon/McCartney)
I Fought The Law (Sonny Curtis)
    Y.M.C.A. (Village People)
    Rebel Rebel (David Bowie)
    I'm Goin' Down (R. Cray)
    Twist And Shout (Medley/Rusell)
    Summer Of '69
    Good Golly Miss Molly
    (Otis Blackwell)
    When the night comes
