USGARD
In the beginning there was ZShell. Then there was a couple of more similiar
shells. Then Usgard came - the first new shell with some real improvements.
Currently the Usgard develop team consist of Andreas Ess and myself, but
other people have been involved in the beginning (Sam Davies, Austin Butler
and Mel Tsai). Check out the
Icarus Productions Z80 page for more information. You'll also
find the latest version of Usgard, 1.5, there.
The TI-85 is slowly growing obsolete, because of the
TI-86, and thus I seldom program anything for it nowadays. However, any
popular TI-86 game I create, I will port (if possible) to the TI-85.
THE
ZSHELL
&
USGARD
SCHOOL
First, the ZShell school is permanently closed, and there is no idea
to beg for more lessons. I've ported the school to Usgard though, but there
are no new lessons. For more information, check out either school:
YARIN
PRODUCTIONS
I've been optimizing some of my ZShell games for Usgard, but not all. Below
is a list of the latest version of each game. If you want the ZShell version of some
of the Usgard games, check out the
ZShell archive at ticalc.org.
| Sqrxz 1.01 |
The first Mario Bros style game with smooth scrolling for the TI-85,
now with all features from the original game! Control Sqrxz (a bug) through worlds
containing spike traps, falling bridges, nasty enemies and much more! A level
editor (not very good) for PC is included as well! (Usgard game)

 |
| ZTetris 3.0 |
The classical tetris game. No rules needed to explain, everyone
knows them. This clone works a bit as the gameboy version. Some features are: Highscore
table (with full name entering possible), teacher key, linkplay, cool background
patterns (16 different), start with trashline and other options. (Usgard game) |
 |
| Bombsweeper 1.1 |
A puzzle game. Find your way out through a maze by pushing the
walls in the maze. It's easy in the beginning, but the farther you come,
the harder the levels get. The game is a clone of a Game & Watch game, with
the same levels (almost). (Usgard game) |
 |
| BoulderDash 1.0 |
Who doesn't know this old C64 classic? Control Rockford through 16 caves among
boulders, jewels, deadly fireflies and butterflies. Face the mystic amoeba and the magic walls.
Can you take enough jewels to finish the cave? It will require many tries, and your brain will
be overheated... (ZShell game) |
 |
| Squarez 1.0 |
A small, somewhat addictive game that reminds ofTtetris. The goal
is to connect different pieces into 3x3 blocks as fast as possible. Not as easy
as it sounds, because a lot of trash from previous pieces will be left on the
screen. (ZShell game) |
 |
| Labby 2.1 |
You're trapped in a maze filled with ghosts. You must escape before they find you.
You don't have any weapons (sorry Doom fans...) and must avoid the ghosts at the same time as you
must find the exit. Luckily, there is no time pressure. Yet... Currently there are four 23x23 mazes, each
harder than the previous one. One suggestion: draw a map... (ZShell game) |
 |
| Game Wizard 0.9 |
The ultimate cheater. You can cheat in almost all games (only
grayscale games won't work), in almost any possible ways. More lifes, more time,
more ammo, lesser enemies? No problem. Search for changes in the memory, and
you'll probably find what you want... Can be used for 'good' purposes as well.
