Finding Umeå for Dummies

How to get to Umeå

First locate Umeå in on the Swedish map:


As you can see it is in the nothern parts, a bit south of Luleå, and a bit north of Örnsköldsvik.

So how do you do to actually get to Umeå? Here follows some aid:

By bus: Expressbuss Guiden (or in english: "timetable for express coaches")
Follow the appropriate link to get the page in ypur favourite language and give "date and Start -> End" to see when and how you can travel. There are a few nice features as "help" on the site.
By airplane: scandinavian
Search for a flight with SAS. You give "Start -> End" and is told of a flight (hopefully). (Site in english.)
By train: samtrafiken
You give "date and Start -> End" to see when and how you can travel.

That is: if you come from the south; go straight through town, following the really nice and wide road.
If comming from Luleå, well then you do not have to go through the town, see the map below.
By plane? Well, once you get to the airport, in Umeå I presume, simply use the special bus-tour ("Flygbussen") that passes by the university.
