Not so simple, you need some triggers.P6 is six voice synth,so there are 6 separate sections with vco,vcf and vca.If you hold a note it triggers one section, hold onemore and it triggers another section and so on to 6 when it start from the first section. In theory you can make six separate audio ins,and trigger each with it's own trigger. You can't separate it's vco from audio path (unless you want to do some cutting inside your p6). For just one audio in there are few choices: 1)you can mix ext with vcos without additional trigs, outs are from standard p6's : a)put ext in in just one filter chip and your ext will only sound when you play trough that specific voice (you'll hear it every second note from sixnote chord-seems stupid, only in unison mode you'll hear it every time you play a note b)you can connect same audio in to all six sections (trough some buffers) so it's heard every time, but as each filter tracks kbd (but you can set it to 0%) and due to different calibration of each section,it can sound different for each voice 2)just using one filter, only cutoff and res,no envelope nor vca section but you still don't need triggers, nor playing kbd-something like guitar pedal filter : You'll connect in to filter and take out direct from vcf out, before vca (I'll explain where and how later) 3)you use filter ,envelope, vca but don't want to play kbd and p6's vcos here you need some trigger in,but use p6's out : Say you want just one ext in again, you connect to one filter in,and trigger(well, gate signal that is) to the envelpe generator of the same section whose filter you're using. You can make 6 seperate ins,6 gate ins,p6's out for mix of those,or 6 separate outs (each taken before mixing together, after vca, with some buffers). There's board in front of you after opening p6,labeled klm-366,where vcf is. Filter in is pin #1 of chip labeled SSM 2044 (there are 6 of them, example ic 32,all other ic numbers for this same section), connect ext in to it via some 47k resistor and 100n capacitor in series (pin 1 is first on the left side when you are lookin chip so hole in it's plastic body is on top). Filter out (before vca !) is pin #3 (3. from the top on the left). Connect it to some single opamp buffer and that's out. vca out (after vcf ,with envelope ) is on pin#6 of nearby chip 4558 (ic 33),again some buffer needed before real out,or you can take it from pin #7 of the same chip which is buffered, but there can be some interference with other 5 outs as it 's point which is mixed with others. Gate in is pin#6 of chip SSM 2056 (ic34,envelope generator), it needs 5V positive going gate.Little red LED lits up to show gate on when it's aplied for that voice (6 Leds in total). You must trigger the envelope that affects filter you're using. I hope it's understandable and that it'll help somebody... marjan
